Weird math class

So you went to room 107, the math class. You weren't the best at math, as you got 5% once on a test and also wasn't the best in standardized tests too. Your friend, Ben, started talking to you about how much he hated math, and you agreed. You went to your seat, and you see a math equation you need to simplify and raise your hand. The equation is 3x+5(3x+1)+2x-9. You did some work with some inaccuracies and got 4x-8, which is not the correct answer, you raise your hand, but the school nerd raised his hand too. You got picked first, and said 4x-8. The teacher said it was nice work but it is wrong, and it made you angry. The nerd raised his hand and said it is 4(5x-1) and got it correct. This angered you more, but the class moved to another question.
