Synopsis: A Uruguayan plane carrying the players of the Old Christians Club of Montevideo rugby team crashes in the Andes mountain range and the survivors must overcome the extreme conditions to survive.

Daniel Fernández Strauch was born in Montevideo (Uruguay) on February 12, 1946. He studied at the Faculty of Agricultural Engineering with his cousin Fito Strauch and Coche Inciarte. Eduardo Strauch, one of his cousins, had persuaded him at the last minute to accompany them on their trip to Chile.
