Magnus is an expert demolitionist and griefer. He was a part of the Order of the Stone and was the former ruler of Boom Town. He, along with the Order of the Stone, defeated the Ender Dragon. However, he and the rest of the Order lied to the world about how they defeated the dragon in more epic ways to earn more fame. In reality, Soren used Ivor's Command Block to blink it out of existence. Because of the Order's lies, Ivor quit, and vowed revenge.

Chandlo Funkbun is a Grumpus who is a resident of Snaxburg, and part of Elizabert Megafig's expedition. The Journalist refers to him as 'The Beefcake' in Chandlo's interview description. He is in a relationship with Snorpy. A brawny builder bro. Surprisingly spiritual. Likes the outdoors, challenges, and 'rager parties, braw'.

Wiggle Wigglebottom is a fame-seeking musician and part of Elizabert Megafig's expedition.
An extravagant entertainer. Her star has faded.

The Journalist is the protagonist player character in Bugsnax. They work for GNN at the mercy of their editor, Clumby Clumbernut. Upon Elizabert Megafig's invitation to bring the discovery of Bugsnax to the world, the Journalist sets off on their journey. Over the course of the game, the Journalist meets the Expedition Team members on Snaktooth Island, conducts interviews and catches a whole lot of Bugsnax, replacing Lizbert in such a position but never explicitly mentioned as such.

Triffany Lottablog is a Grumpus who is a resident of Snaxburg, and part of Elizabert Megafig's expedition. Her husband is Wambus Troubleham.

The Buggy Ball, also referred to as Strabball and Stramble, is a Field Tool that can enter small spaces and functions as mobile lure.
The Journalist receives it from Gramble in Simmering Springs. It contains Sprout, a Strabby trained by Gramble in a glass ball (reminiscent of a hamster ball). Sprout is trained to follow a laser pointer.

The Once-ler is the narrator of The Lorax and the the 2012 film adaptation of the same name. He is a greedy industrialist who cut down all of the beautiful, multi-colored Truffula Tree to make a peculiar garment known as a Thneed, 'a Fine-Thing-That-All-People-Need'.

Bunger is a beetle-like Bugsnak resembling a hamburger. It makes its debut in Filbo Leads The Way/Wambus Goes To Seed where it charges into Filbo. It functions as a tutorial for the  Sauce Slinger.

Mayor Aloysius O'Hare is the main antagonist of Illumination's 3rd feature film The Lorax, an adaptation of Dr. Seuss' 1971 book of the same name.
He is the greedy and manipulative mayor of Thneedville, the founder of O'Hare Air, Morty and McGurk's boss and Ted Wiggins' arch-nemesis. Since The Once-Ler cut down all truffula trees, O'Hare has made a business by selling bottled fresh air, but when Ted Wiggins attempts to find a way to restore truffula trees, O'Hare tries to stop him.

The Lorax is the namesake of the book The Lorax, its adaptations, the 1971 TV Special, and the animated film. He was voiced by Bob Holt (TV Special) and Danny DeVito (2012 film).

Cactriffy, also referred to as simply Cactus and Cactus Triffany, is a Grumpus-sized cactus plant that greatly resembles Triffany Lottablog. It seemingly moves around in Snaxburg.
In Triffany's absence, the cactus was dressed to her likeness by Wambus Troubleham, longing for his wife's companionship after she left Snaxburg during the events of The Fight.

Beffica Winklesnoot is a Grumpus who is a resident of Snaxburg, and part of Elizabert Megafig's expedition.
A sharp-tongued socialite snoop. Your bestie, apparently. Likes gossip, photography, and breaking and entering.

Elizabert "Lizbert" Megafig is the famed Australian explorer leading Bugsnax expedition on Snaktooth Island. She invites The Journalist, a like-minded individual for cryptids and mystery, to come document their findings and present them to the world. Upon their arrival, the expedition team has scattered and Lizbert has vanished.
Likes nature documentaries, the unknown, and cool hats.

Filbo Fiddlepie is the Mayor of Snaxburg on Snaktooth Island. Second-in-command to Lizbert, but terrible at it. He likes making friends, throwing parties, and boundless optimism.

College Kid is the leader of a group called the Geico Cult. This group specialises in car insurance and... revenge. College Kid will get just about anyone to join this cult. He also loves ramen, anime, and the supernatural.

Wambus Troubleham is a Grumpus who is a resident of Snaxburg, and part of Elizabert Megafig's expedition. He is often seen on his farm. Players meet him the first time together with Filbo in his makeshift farm in Garden Grove, where he is troubled by Bungers and bad soil. His wife is Triffany Lottablog.

The Snaxsquatch is a cryptid that resides on Snaktooth Island and appears in most of its areas in specific locations at specific times making its encounter one by chance. It does not move from the spot where it spawns, cannot be interacted with and deforms upon being seen - making it harmless to the player.
