The interior of the custom limo was thick with the scent of expensive cherry smoke and the sharp, acidic tang of an impending migraine. ​Valentino was sprawled across the velvet seating, his long limbs agitated as he gestured wildly with a glowing cigarette holder. "I’m telling you, Vel, if that little brat walks off set one more time, I’m going to personally make sure she never sees a camera lens again! My time is money, and she’s burning through both!" ​Velvette didn't even look up from her device, her thumbs flying across the screen with lethal precision as she fueled a burgeoning flame war on Sinstagram. "Ugh, shut up, Val! You’re vibrating the whole damn seat. I’m busy trying to bury that 'scandal' from the fashion show while also dealing with your temper tantrum. It’s exhausting being the only one with a functioning brain in this car." ​"Exhausting? Exhausting?!" Val scoffed, leaning into her personal space. "I am the one providing the content! You’re just the one who puts a filter on it!" ​"I am the one who keeps you relevant, you dinosaur!" she snapped back, finally glaring at him over the rim of her glasses. ​While the two of them spiraled into their usual vitriolic banter, Vox remained a silent, static-heavy shadow in the corner. He wasn't participating in the bickering for once; instead, his gaze was fixed intently on his phone. His screen wasn't showing social media or stock updates, but a jagged, flickering UI of his own internal system diagnostics. ​The progress bars were crawling, pulsing a deep, warning red. His head felt like a pressurized steamer, and every time the limo hit a bump, a fresh wave of digital artifacts streaked across his vision. He adjusted his collar, trying to ignore the way his cooling fans were beginning to whir at a frantic, audible pitch, desperately trying to keep his core temperature from redlining before they reached the tower.
