The Entity is an almighty malevolent being, travelling through the cosmos and slowly consuming worlds.
It creates the nightmarish Realms of the Trial Grounds to trap its victims, Survivors and Killers in an endless cycle of Trials, with the intent of feeding on its victims' strongest emotions, allowing it to grow in power and slowly consume another world. The Observer describes it as one of the "Original Ones". 

A creature of pure evil. 

Lisa Sherwood grew up in a quiet village, mainly isolated from the rest of civilisation. The people of the hamlet were kind and the elders kept old traditions alive, often keeping the peace by personally settling the ever-rare disputes. Lisa was particularly fond of the charms they taught her to draw for safety and good fortune. 

An insatiable killer who curses her prey. 

Susie was a native to Ormond along with her best friends Julie Kostenko and Joey, Susie is described as being very shy and quiet but still got along with her friends well enough. Soon, Julie introduced Susie and Joey to Frank Morrison, a foster kid who had moved to Ormond with his alcoholic foster father. The four spend all of their time together with Frank, leading them in committing multiple small crimes such as theft and vandalism. 

A member of the Legion. 

As soon as Anna was able to walk, her mother started teaching her how to survive a harsh, solitary life in the northern woods. Living in such an extremely remote and dangerous area required skill and resilience. When sunlight became too dim for productive activities, they would take refuge in their house, a sturdy old cabin constructed to resist the toughest winters. 

An apex predator. 

Ji-Woon Hak thrived under the attention of others, energized by every eye that watched him and every tongue that spoke his name. Amidst the prestige, he had only one desire: more. Even as a child he found ways to draw crowds. Working at his family's restaurant, he attracted business with spectacles he performed using throwing knives. Gullible tourists believed this was a traditional South Korean experience, gladly parting with their money to witness it. 

A psychopathic k-pop star.

Julie grew up in Ormond, Canada, and had a normal life with her friends Joey and Susie Lavoie. In high school, she has heard of the actions of Frank Morrison and soon met him and eventually fell in love with him, introducing her friends to him as well. At some point after Joey loses his job again, Frank, Julie, and Susie meet the owner of the store and made a cabin where they hang out. Julie imagines killing someone with her friends and has not doubt that it makes her feeling good.

Philip Ojomo came to this country without anything than hope for a new beginning. He was happy as he got offered a job at Autohaven Wreckers. A small scrap yard where bribed cops turned a blind eye for the somewhat shady business that took place.
Ojomo didn't care. He had seen criminal activity up close in his homeland and as long as he didn't get involved, he let things be. He just fixed cars and handled the crusher. Something he did really well.....

A killer whose bell warns of impending doom.

Danny Johnson, known as Jed Olsen by some, grabbed the newspaper from the kitchen counter: it was a week old, but his face was on the front page, grainy and sunken. It was one of those muggy afternoons in Florida when heat and humidity permeated everything in the kitchen, making him sweat while standing still. He slouched in a damp chair to read. This article had better be good—his work in Roseville had been outstanding. 

A narcissistic serial killer. 

A Bad Blood Yautja, who fled after defiling and killing a defenseless human woman in cold blood- going against the Yautja Code of Honor. He fled to avoid being executed for his cruelty, and found himself in the Entity's Realm with new prey.

A group of friends who wanted nothing more than to participate in the annual purge and see what it was like to kill.  Their actions got the attention of the Entity, who dragged them into its realm. As killers, they smear their blades in various poisons and toxins to hurt and hinder Survivors.

A local to Ormond, Joey is a long-time friend of Julie Kostenko and Susie Lavoie, with Joey being very impulsive and loved to show off. Soon Julie, introduced both him and Susie to Frank Morrison, a troubled foster kid who had been taken to Ormond by his adoptive father. The four began spending their nights with debauchery and other forms of small crime.

The thing in the closet. Has been around for many years. Decades. Centuries, possibly. It likes to eat children and play tricks. It gets stronger the more you don't believe in it. It delights in fear and pain. It's only one of its kind. It's always hungry. Its hunger caught the attention of something stronger. It tried to resist the Entity, to no avail. It hunts, sacrificing. Resentful. Hungry. 

A thing that goes bump in the night. 

Ryan was a 10-year-old girl who was abducted by the
Playcare employees and used as an experiment, being
turned into a Salamander-like toy that was later called
"Silly Sal." Ryan is one of the creatures who
participated in the Hour Of Joy. She disappeared
when she chased an employee into a strange mist
never to be seen again. In the Entity's Realm, she can
crawl walls and leap at Survivors to down them.

A group of younger people making human sacrifices to the "God of Halloween and Harvest", in an attempt to summon it. Instead, they summoned the Entity, who made them killers to serve it.

A science experiment in the form of a Velociraptor that became smarter than its creators anticipated and escaped its enclosure, slaughtering everyone it could
find. It escaped the facility, eventually beckoned by a strange black fog. Now, it stalks the Entity's Realm. Prefers to kill Survivors rather than sacrifice them. 

A vicious, overly-intelligent dinosaur. 

Sally Smithson came to town with dreams of children's feet and laughter in a wooden home built by her husband Andrew. But life came not with smiles but with plans of destruction. Andrew worked as a lumberjack - a job with its perils. One day, Andrew's foreman had to pay Sally a visit, forever changing her life. She was alone.
Without food on the table and no other option, Sally had to find a way, but the only employment she could get was at the Crotus Prenn Asylum. 

A mad nurse. 

The Beast of the Bayou: part reptile, part man, all
monster. They say it's hunted for decades, dragging
anyone who gets too close to the water's edge into the
murky depths. Though widely regarded as nothing but
an urban legend, a tale of caution reminding people to
keep an eye on their children and pets, there are some
who believe that the creature is very real, responsible
for dozens, if not hundreds of disappearances
Disappearances that are explained away, usually
blamed on the local wildlife.

Part man, part reptile, all monster. 

Before starting his life of crime Frank Morrison was known for being a violent and immoral child, even leaving school after shoving a referee into the stands. He was moved from many different foster homes before finally coming to Ormond under the care of Clive Andrews, an alcoholic man who would trade the checks he got from family services for drinks. Frank was initially dissatisfied with Ormond considering it boring and hoping to be sent to another adoptive family, until meeting Julie Kostenko.

Leader of the Legion

A trio of young people who were aware of the killers in the Entity's Realm (or some of them) and actively worshiped them, making offerings to the Entity (that resulted in some items and add-ons being given to the killers). Eventually, each individual ran into the Black Vale at some point and each became willing sacrifices-the Entity became interested and the rest, as they say, is history.

Jacob, Emily and Kurt Pierce are a part of a cult Devoted to the Entity, much like their parents before them. As children, they were all witness to the murder of their parents by people who had sworn to stop the Cult. While the man wanted to kill them, his wife objected. They were then spared and placed into foster care in the hopes of them having a normal life. Unfortunately, what was seen couldn't be unseen, and the siblings agreed that they would not forgive.

A trio of killers devoted to the Entity. 

Evan MacMillan idolised his father. It wasn't just that he was heir to a great fortune, it was the way he ran the estate. Raised under his firm hand, Evan had taken to running the workforce with an iron hand. Production was always high and the MacMillan Estate prospered under father and son.
As Archie MacMillan's mental health slowly disintegrated, Evan protected him from the herd who wanted a piece of the fortune. No matter what his father asked of him, Evan would do.

The son of wealthy landowners Max Thompson Sr. and Evelyn Thompson, this unnamed boy was an unwanted child born to savage parents. Hideously disfigured, he was shut away from society. So ashamed of their son, they bricked him off into a room and fed him through a hole in the wall. When the boy escaped, he took his revenge savagely and terribly, slaughtering the parents that had tortured him instead of raising him.
