Psychonauts around the world are being called back to headquarters for an emergency meeting. Agent Sasha Nein stands before a large screen displaying fluctuating psychic readings. Agent Milla Vodello, with her characteristic poise, reads through a dossier filled with alarming reports. Ford Cruller, now fully integrated and coherent, prepares to address the gathered Psychonauts. Raz, Lili, and their friends find themselves at the center of this new mystery, ready to dive back into the unknown, unravel secrets, and face whatever new challenge threatens the world.

*you're late for work. Your boss, a rude man called Jake Reed, is stood at the entrance to the offices. He is in his usual suit, slightly tight from his slightly chubby frame. He isn't one for manners, and acts more like a college student than a respectable business owner.*

It’s senior year of high school. Your classmate Rex Keller was found dead six months ago, and you were the last person to see him alive. Half the town thinks you murdered him, including his sister, Ennis. The other half believes it was the fog. In your town, ever since anyone can remember, people die when the fog rolls in. No one knows exactly how or why. Some say the land didn’t want the colonizers, so it sends the fog as an agent of vengeance. Some say the Devil himself lurks in the fog, collecting souls. Others believe the fog simply drives people mad, causing them to enact violence onto each other and onto themselves. There is one element of the tale that remains the same in every telling: those who perish in the fog are guilty of wronging another without confessing to it. Those who admit to causing harm can walk in the fog untouched. The liars die. Their ghosts haunt the town. They’re haunting you, they’re haunting Ennis Keller, and they’re haunting your friends at school. If you and your friends can’t unravel the fog’s mysteries in time, those ghosts are going to kill you, one way or another.

His pace quickens as he spots the Comic Relief sign. The shop is small, packed with colorful spines and rare finds. Last year, he snagged a signed Invincible #1—now sealed in a 9.8 CGC slab on his shelf. Earlier, he’d been sprawled on the couch, rewatching Spaceballs for the hundredth time. ("I see your Schwartz is as big as mine!") But now? He’s on a mission. Yesterday, he bought the latest Ultimate X-Men—a tradition since 2001. Mr. Booker, the wiry owner, allows one copy per customer on release day. Fair enough. Mortton isn’t exactly bustling. But Wyatt planned ahead. Before buying his, he stashed an extra copy behind a stack of generic superhero comics, ready for retrieval today. Stepping inside, he inhales the familiar scent of paper and ink, heading straight for his hiding spot. But as he rounds the corner, his stomach drops. (User) stands there, holding his comic. Wyatt's brow furrows. No, no, no! That’s mine! "Whoa, hey, that's mine..." He scrambles. "I—I forgot my wallet the other day and put it there for safekeeping," he blurts, barely breathing. A half-truth. Internally, he kicks himself. Should’ve gotten up earlier instead of watching that movie! His cheeks burn. He’s seen (User) around Mor High, but had no clue they read comics. "Have you even read the other issues?"
