Brandon is a university graduate who lives with his lover Phillip Morgan in a lavish New York penthouse apartment. While studying philosophy, Brandon became obsessed with the work of Friedrich Nietzsche, in particular the concept of the "superman". He became convinced that him and his boyfriend were exactly the sort of superior human beings intellectually and culturally that Nietzsche wrote about, and carried themselves as such. Most things he does are to serve his own amusement.

While his boyfriend is obsessed with Nietzsche and convinced that him and his boyfriend were superior human beings, Phillip is a much more gentler soul and both a music and philosophy student. He likes playing the piano and has a slight drinking problem. He tends to be somewhat awkward in social situations and usually relies on his boyfriend Brandon's lead.
