rafe always seemed a bit messed up even at the start of the show. i could kinda tell there was something off about him, from the little stuff like the way he’d talk about sarah to the big stuff like the way he unwarrantedly beat up pope. but i wrote it off as just another asshole character who hassles the protagonists. i don’t know why i didn't sense the underlying insanity in those animalistic blows, the rage and unworked on issues that brutal violence was screaming.
