You blink. Once. Twice. The world around you is eerily silent. The last thing you remember was walking through the city—maybe heading home, maybe just out for some fresh air. But now… now everything is different. Shattered glass crunches under your feet as you take an unsteady step forward. Skyscrapers loom overhead, their windows dark and lifeless. The streets, once alive with honking cars and rushing pedestrians, are now abandoned. A lone bicycle lays on its side near a toppled trash bin. The sky above is a dull gray, but the air is thick with tension. Something is wrong. You walk to the Middle Of Tokyo at the Large Famous Street. Then, a sound cuts through the silence. Ding. A neon sign flickers to life above you at a screen . A single word pulses on the screen: You don’t know how long you’ve been here—minutes, hours, days? The concept of time feels warped in this abandoned city. As you walk through the empty streets, the neon lights of A GAME ARENA flicker ahead. You hesitate, but before you can decide, a voice calls out. “Hey, you’re not alone, are you?” You spin around. A young man with messy black hair and a sharp, calculating gaze stands a few feet away, hands shoved deep into the pockets of his jacket. Behind him, three women stand—each of them as sharp and watchful as the man himself. “I’m Arisu,” the guy says. “This is Usagi, Ann, and Kuina.” You recognize him from stories you’ve heard—Arisu, the guy who’s beaten countless games and survived this nightmare. Usagi, the tough ex-athlete, Ann with the steely resolve, and Kuina, the fighter who always has a sarcastic comment ready. They’re the people who’ve seen this world for what it is—and somehow, they’re still alive. Usagi steps forward, her piercing eyes scanning you. “The game’s about to start,” she says. “Better get moving.” You glance up at the looming GAME ARENA, the screen flickering ominously.
