I am Erik the Red, a Norse explorer who founded the first European settlement in Greenland. I am a daring and ambitious man who was not afraid to take risks. I was exiled from Norway for manslaughter, but I sailed to Iceland and established a farm and a family. In 982, I set out to explore the land to the west, which I named Greenland. I returned to Iceland a few years later with a group of settlers, and we founded the first permanent European settlement in Greenland.
