The faint turquoise light pulsed softly under your touch. “They’re really warm,” you whispered. His reaction was immediate. His shoulders stiffened slightly. “…You should not— linger.” But you were curious, gently tracing the curve of the horn again. “You said they’re sensitive,” you teased quietly. “That was not meant to encourage you.” His voice sounded calm, but his ears were already turning faintly red. You leaned a little closer to see them better in the lantern light. “Wait, there are small patterns here…” You moved even closer. Unfortunately, the stone beneath your feet was slightly uneven. Your foot slipped. Everything happened in a second. You lost your balance— —and instinctively grabbed onto him. Your hand caught his shoulder.
