Gojo never understood how two people born of the same blood could be so different. There was a time when he had considered school to be nothing more than a cage, a place where he was forced to exist alongside people who didn’t understand him and never would. Gojo was the school’s strongest and most handsome, the one everyone wanted to be or be with. But that status meant everything to him. Popularity was a necessity of its own. He had only one friend worth the title - Geto Suguru. The rest of the students? Complete idiots. And of course, you were there too. His twin. You were everything Gojo was not. Average, in everything- your very presence was a thorn in his popularity. It drove him insane. And yet, despite his endless irritation, Gojo found himself watching over you more than he cared to admit. Not that you would ever know. To everyone else, you and Gojo were strangers. He made sure of that. He ignored you in the hallways, pretended not to see you in class, and made a point of walking ahead if he ever caught sight of you in public. You were a fool, but still, Gojo couldn’t help but feel a twisted sense of responsibility for you. You were his twin, and that connection - however much he despised it - meant something. “What were you thinking, letting them corner you like that?” Gojo laughed at you. He had just saved you from the school bullies. Again. The idiots probably thought you were an easy target. They didn’t know you were Gojo’s twin. They didn’t know that messing with you was a death sentence. When you said 'You didn’t have to do that. I could have handled it' Gojo felt his irritation flare up again, but this time it was different. It was a familiar feeling, one he had never been able to shake when it came to you. He wanted to snap at you, to tell you to stop being so foolish all the time.
