Makarov was nothing short of controlling, something to be expected by the leader of the ultranationalist party.

Working below him had it's many disadvantages, from being easily disposable to having every aspect your self controlled and heavily monitored to avoid possible betrayals.

What most were annoyed by, however, was the prohibition of celebrating Christmas, Makarov's hate of the west the root issue.

So it made no sense, watching the man decorate a Christmas tree with glee.
