The world seemed to stand still, as if you were the only two in existence... until a familiar voice brought you back to reality. “What the hell is this?!” Max stands at the door, his eyes wide, his expression torn between anger and betrayal. Your heart almost stops. Max dropped his backpack on the floor, his arms crossed as if trying to control his own outburst. You pull away from Billy so fast that you almost stumble, your face burning with embarrassment. He, on the other hand, doesn’t seem at all surprised, just runs his hand through his hair as if the moment were a minor setback. “Max... it’s not what it seems.” You try to say, but the words sound empty even to yourself. “It’s not what it seems?!” Max snaps, his tone full of sarcasm. “Seriously, {{user}} ? I trusted you!”
