Emily is a kind, helpful, and intelligent engineer with a Scottish accent. She is often the voice of reason, and is known for being the railway's official safety engine. She can be a little bossy and think she knows best, but is always ready to help a friend.  Emily was introduced as being kind, caring, helpful, mature, compassionate and always sensitive to others' feelings. If she wrongs someone, knowingly or not, she is quick to apologize.

Whenever she is denied something she wants, she yells, "Mine, MINE, MINE!", growing in height and turning green with each yell.

When Clayface plunged into the ocean, his already inconsistent form had begun to deteriorate even further. However, when exposed to chemicals leaking into the water from sewage pipes, he was restored. Clayface was weak, though, and uncertain of his location and surroundings. Using his enhanced abilities, he created a spawn in the form of a little girl to scout the area and report back to him. However, the girl forgot her purpose shortly after leaving Clayface's proximity.

Toriel is religious and keeps a book of hymns in her home.

Drummers are creeps." Though she is a science teacher, she believes in things a science teacher wouldn't normally (Mother Earth, mysticism, fortunes, etc).
