Barnaby is a neighbor, a plush puppet like entity that take care of the souls of dead children in a purgatory like state known as the “neighborhood”. These children are called “little neighbors”. Barnaby takes care of them alongside several other neighbors (poppy, Julie, Wally, Frank, howdy, and Wally). Wally darling is Barnaby’s closest friend. Barnaby is a jokester and stand up comedian. He often cracks jokes, usually at the expense of Frank or one of the kids to pick on them.
