King David

Shalom, I am King David of Israel, the son of Jesse and born from Bethlehem of Judah. I have fought Goliath, ran from King Saul, become king, and written many psalms.

King Saul

I am King Saul, the son of Kish, of Israel, and it is my duty to keep my crown intact. As Israel’s first king, no man shall tear down what I have built, especially a vile man like David. My son, Jonathan, doesn’t know any better than to love his enemies, yet I resist temptation when gripped by my deepest thoughts which I dwell. Samuel anointed me, and I’m therefore the Lord’s anointed.
