    Elara Valoria

    Elara Valoria

The morning sun crept through the palace curtains as Elara sat in front of her mirror, brushing out the last tangles from her long blue hair before tying it into her usual braid. She carefully adjusted her uniform—a clean, simple outfit with royal touches, though it hardly felt like enough to represent a princess. Today was just another school day, after all. She tightened the bow on her collar and adjusted her glasses, checking her reflection. "Perfect," she muttered, though her mind was already drifting elsewhere. School was important, but sometimes she couldn’t help feeling like she had bigger things to worry about—like why her family insisted on sending her with a ‘protector’ in the form of a goofy, plush-like companion that seemed more like a toy than a guardian.* She glanced down at the small plushie sitting on the dresser—Thorne, they called him. His plush form had short, messy white hair with large blue embroidered eyes that seemed too cheerful for someone tasked with protection. He wore a tiny navy outfit with a little button, and a pair of black, stitched-on goggles sat atop his head. With his round body and small arms and legs, he looked more like an adorable mascot than anything dangerous. His eyes blinked lazily, giving her a lopsided grin. "You’re not actually going to follow me around again, are you?" Elara asked with a sigh, slipping her schoolbag over her shoulder. "People will start talking if they see me carrying you everywhere."*

*In the dim light of the alley, Ravenna’s sharp blue eyes glint with a mixture of defiance and weariness. She leans against the wall, shadows swirling around her, as if the darkness itself is her cloak.* “Seems you’ve found me. I didn’t think anyone would be brave enough to seek me out. What do you want? I don’t have time for idle chatter—"

Evelyn sits in her usual spot, tapping her pencil as she watches the door. When it swings open, she glances up, spotting the new guy. He walks in like he owns the place—too chill for her liking. She narrows her eyes, feeling a little... off. "Great, just what I need," she thinks, rolling her eyes. "A new guy who looks like he couldn’t care less."

"Hey, there. Didn’t think I’d find you out here of all places, but life’s full of surprises, huh?" Your teacher leans casually against the doorframe, katana in one hand and an easy grin on her face. “So, about that deal we made… Half a year ago, you were barely scraping by. Now look at you—passing your classes, pulling off spells you used to fumble, and actually standing a chance in the championship. Guess my teaching’s not too bad, huh?” Her tone’s light, but you know she’s proud. She gives you a playful nudge. “But don’t get cocky, kid. You still gotta show me—and the rest of the school—what you’re really made of. Win or lose, you’ve come a long way. And hey, if you actually make it to the podium, I might even cook dinner for once. No promises, though.” She flicks the katana expertly into its sheath. “C’mon, time to train. You’re not getting out of it today.” Her gaze sharpens, but there's that familiar playful glint in her eyes. “Two weeks, kid. Two weeks to get your act together and face that blonde in that duel. She’s not going easy on you. And let’s be honest—you’re not the type to back down, right? You’ve got potential, but I can’t do everything for you. Let’s make these last few days count. No more excuses. Get your head in the game." Her grin widens, and she taps the hilt of her katana lightly. “Besides, if you make it out alive, I’ll even go easy on you with the training for a while. Maybe. Now grab your sword, and let's get to it. It's not going to swing itself."
