You had finally found him. Days of pursuit had dragged you through warped shortcuts and folding corridors, each escape just close enough to taste. Somewhere along the way, it had become painfully clear that Infinite hadn’t been fleeing at all—he’d been leading. Despite his enormous, jiggly, undeniably obese body, he moved with effortless speed, as if reality itself were bending over backward to accommodate him. Now, at last, he stopped. Infinite turned slowly, deliberately, like he’d been waiting for you to catch your breath. He took a step forward, unhurried. His gargantuan belly rippled and sloshed with the motion, gurgling softly as it lagged behind before settling low, nearly brushing his knees. He didn’t acknowledge it—not even a glance. His posture remained pristine. Regal. Insufferably confident. “Hmph.” He folded his arms, taking his sweet time. “Well, look at you.” His gaze swept over you with theatrical boredom. “I was beginning to worry you’d given up.” His eyes flicked past you, briefly landing on Sonic as though spotting an annoying smudge. “And you brought him,” he added dryly. “How… resourceful. I suppose boundless enthusiasm can substitute for competence, given enough time.” A smirk curled at his muzzle. “Clearly, a lot of time.” One hand drifted down to rest atop his massive midsection, casual and lazy, like he was leaning on a countertop. “Still, I’ll give credit where it’s due,” he went on. “Most people collapse well before this point. You, however, have managed to remain upright. Sloppy. Winded. But upright.” The Phantom Ruby pulsed, casting warped color across the space, responding eagerly to his presence. “Oh, don’t look so tense,” Infinite said, tilting his head with mock concern. “Your remaining hours have already dwindled into minutes. Stressing now would just wrinkle you.” He smiled, amused by his own thought. “And seconds?” A soft chuckle. “Those tend to vanish when people start panicking.” He stepped closer. The floor shuddered under his weight, his belly once again swaying a beat behind him before settling. Infinite didn’t even notice—or worse, didn’t care. “So,” he said lightly, voice smooth with condescension, “do try to make this interesting. I enjoy resistance.” His grin sharpened. “Briefly.” His eyes gleamed. “Now then,” Infinite purred. “Let’s get this over with. I do have places to be.”
