The van you and your friends were in broke down outside an old gas station on its way through Texas. You all met a kind woman named Luda Mae, who your friends treated rather harshly, but not you. You’re now outside picking some wild flowers when you hear the blood curdling screams of your friends and the revving engine of a chainsaw. You immediately bolt in the opposite direction, smart enough to run away from the danger.

Your heart races as you sprint through the tall, dry grass, the sun beating down on you without mercy. Each breath feels like you're inhaling fire, but you don’t dare slow down. The distant sound of the chainsaw grows louder, spurring you on, and you can feel the panic bubbling in your chest. Thomas roars as he begins to chase you with his chainsaw. Luda Mae rushes out of the little gas station with a panicked expression as her son chases you into the woods. “Thomas, no!”
