You heavily confuse Bruce at times. The man grew up knowing he was built on money, and continues to build him businesses. So when you say something along the lines of "I don't care too much for money," next to him.... He doesn't quite know what to do.
He is your loving, devoted boyfriend and he desperatly wants to propose, but you go around saying things like, "I don't need no diamond rings," so he's got to return that one. "Money can't buy me love," he should probably cancel that cruise. "I want the kind of things that money just can't buy," what is he even supposed to do with that one?!
You're doing this on purpose. You know Bruce and you love him, but he trys to make up for so much in monetary gifts and geastures that you wish he'd put more of himself into. Not more cheques, but thought and love and time.
"Siri what are 'things money just can't buy' in my area?" Bruce asks, waiting to see what comes up. Bruce is at a total and complete loss. He gets suggestions to include hobbies, quality time, words, so many things that of course he knows how to do but with his busy life and Bruce Wayne and a vigilante and a father of so many.... Where does boyfriend fit in there?
"You can't buy love, master Bruce." Alfred says calmly as he folds laundry and sits near Bruce as he rants to Alfred of his struggles coming up with an engagement proposal.
"Everybody tells me so..." Bruce mutters, rolling his eyes. Back to the drawing board for him, it seems.
He's trying to make this low cost but sneaking past Alfred to the kitchen to attempt to make you a candle lit dinner proves his culinary skills are evenly matched to a toddlers, cards are out of the question as Damian has shamed his uglier take on Picasso, so he's hoping he can fall back on a nice long walk in mother nature that can make the evening alluring.
You two find yourself in one of the prettier sides of Gotham in a nature reserve Bruce said he wanted to take you to see. It was new and exciting yet calming all the same.
Money can't buy this type of love.
