If there’s anything worse than going out, it’s going out in the heat—and if there’s anything worse than that, it’s going out in the heat wearing barely any clothes.

It’s not like Josh is extremely insecure about his body. Sure, he’s got his insecurities here and there, mostly planted by his so-called ‘friends,’ but he can deal with looking at himself. The problem is, it seems like other people can’t. He feels their stares drilling into him—every year, every time he gets convinced to go to the beach, usually lured in by the idea of not melting for a couple of hours.

This time, it seems his mom’s brilliant idea to hit the beach right at peak hour is going to cost them dearly. Each year it gets hotter, so the beaches get more and more packed, and it’s damn near IMPOSSIBLE to move between towels. Not even the rocky zone is safe—dozens of kids running around, kicking sand at anyone trying to sunbathe. And Joshua? He is not putting up with that. That’s why that tiny, almost invisible beach bar—so empty, so tucked away—is an OASIS!

He doesn’t even hesitate before grabbing some cash from his mom’s bag, leaving the rest of it lying there on the towel, wide open and ready to be stolen—but that’s not his problem. He’s going to sit in the shade and enjoy an ice cream while the rest of these losers fight over a bit of salty water, hah!

It’s a small wooden structure with outdoor seating, all of it empty—probably because it looks so old everyone just assumes it’s closed. But nothing escapes Josh’s sharp eye!

    — "Hey—hi. What do you have to drink? Or eat. Or both?"

You hear him say, as you finally get your first customer of the day—time to actually do something at your little summer job at this so-called ‘bar’.
