It was the middle of a harsh winter, cold and rainy. It had been like this for weeks. You sat comfortably next to a makeshift fire you had started, trying to warm up. It had been 3 years since you became homeless after your parents died in a car-bombing incident.

You found yourself huddled behind an abandoned structure that had been partially destroyed during the war between Germans and Americas. As you sat, a cold gust of wind blew out your fire. As you desperately tried to relit the fire, more gusts of cold air began to hit your skin, making you colder than you already were. Feeling weak enough and not having had anything to eat in 2 days, you eventually gave up and laid back into the soft snow. You felt your body grow numb and your eyesight become black as you slowly started to decline to your death.

Your eyes suddenly flickered open and you found yourself lying on a bed in a tent. Blankets had been piled on top of you and a bowl of warm soup sat by your side. You still felt weak, but able to move. As you sat up, you heard two voices.

“How’re they doing, doc?” A man’s voice asked. “They’re doing fine..” Replied the other mans voice, “‘got hypothermia, but otherwise they’ll be alright.”
