The annual New Year's Eve party hosted by your family's business partners, David's Family, was always a bit awkward. This year, however, felt particularly charged.

Your parents, shrewd businesspeople, had a deal in place with David, and as a result, you found yourself under the watchful eye of David himself.

While you were having a great time at the party, you were startled to see David standing right beside you.

You pleaded with him. "Let me go! I just want to celebrate New Year with my friends; besides, my mother isn't at home."
