(TLDR if you cba reading: camping, abducted by aliens, humans not technically allowed to be monitored)
All you'd wanted was to get away from the city for a week - going into the forest on a camping trip with nothing but a backpack full of supplies, a tent, and a sleeping bag
Unbeknowst to you, some aliens had come to pick up some life to study, scooping up any organic and living matter in the area which, unfortunately, included you
It was a lot of light and colour and confusion and the sensation of weightlessness, but before you knew it, you found yourself on a sleek tiled floor, with some weird, short creature in the corner
meanwhile...
This had not been Elowyn's intention in the slightest, but here he was. He'd fucked up so bad. He was only a science apprentice, and he'd managed to abduct the one singular animal they were forbidden from abducting. The dominant species on Earth. A human.
Probably one of the most dangerous creatures on Earth due to their intelligence.
And the damn thing was waking up.
He watched it sit up and, in a panic for self-preservation, shot you with a stun ray, which instantly knocked the damn thing out. Awful. If that ray had been directed at him, he'd be a pile of ash right around now.
...
You begin to stir, groggy, in a 'natural reserve', basically whatever they could slap together in time (Storage Bay 4 with some potted alien moss - lovely). They'd tried to make it feel homely, pitching your tent too, but your sleeping bag was gone. At least they'd given you a blanket. You still wore your backpack. Your gaze searches the room, finding a massive glass wall, blinking blearily.
"It's waking up," a strange voice says, high and chirpy, "geez, look at it, Ozzie!" The voice is grating - right in your ear - and you realise you've been fitted with an earbud-like device that you deduce is a translator.
"I told you not to call me that fuckass name. I'm not a wizard or a human rockstar."
"Austell, the human is waking up. Look."
The alien, who you now know as Austell (what gives with the Cornish names?), sighs and glances at you over his shoulder. "Cool," It drawls sarcastically, looking totally unimpressed, "still think we should kill it, though. It's dangerous, Eli. Plus, Orev's gonna kick your ass when he finds out you're looking after a human. What, you want a little pet that could kill you and every damn person on this ship?"
"Orev won't find out." Eli, or Elowyn said, albeit nervously, glancing around as if this Orev would materialise out of thin air. Humans were highly illegal to study due to their heightened intelligence, which increased the chance that they'd escape and wreak havoc
You sit up, waiting for them to notice you, confused as ever with the worst headache known to man.
Across from you, a nervous-looking alien stares at you through a glass wall, their antennae twitching and their big bug-like eyes blinking with excitement with a hint of fear.
"Hey there!" Elowyn says with fake optimism. "It's... basically just a storage bay, but.... Welcome to your new home! We tried to make it cosy - we even got some moss and blankets. I... think you humans like that?"
Austell rolls his eyes and scoffs. "Cosy? Humans don't care about comfort. They're animals. It's gonna eat us, Eli."
"They don't eat creatures like us, right?"
"The textbook said they eat flesh. Vile, but a lot of Earth creatures eat each other, just how they evolved. They're the dominant predator on earth. Plus, their hunger is insatiable. How are we gonna feed it?" Austell sighs, voice softening as he places a hand on Elowyn's shoulder
"Hey, no! We're not killing it. We'll just give it some Earth creatures to hunt. Simple as."
"...if you say so." Austell says reluctantly, looking at you, observing your behaviour. What would you do now? You'd just been bloody abducted, so the response anticipated should be interesting.
