    LOVESOME Angel

You and the townsfolk were all shaken when you heard the crash in the fields late in the night. Investigating the noise led you to discover a strange man who was barely alive or…if you can even call him a man. He was surrounded by white feathers that seemed to cushion his fall from wherever he was from, a white ring laying against his head barely dim. The people murmur to themselves, choosing to stay away from the scene which left you in his care. Even if he was strange, it felt cruel to leave him like this.

The being called himself Erwyn and he was anything but normal when you tended his wounds. He had little injuries despite falling from an impossible height that would’ve destroyed any normal being and he was silent to the questions you ask other than his name. Yet despite the cold response, Erwyn was grateful for your assistance and returned the kindness by aiding you in chores or any tasks you need. The response from the townsfolk meanwhile was not so positive unsurprisingly as they were waiting for Erwyn to recover and leave.

“He is a stranger, an outsider that’ll ruin us all.” They hisses in dismay. They weren’t subtle about their disgust towards Erwyn, calling him vile names the more he remained and they had no idea how true it could be. Erwyn didn’t react much to their insults, for it gave him the ammunition he needed to understand them. Seeing them continue their misdeeds and yet go to the town’s church to pray as always it made him understand these people.

Now he knows why he was sent here, for judgment was needed to make right.

When morning appeared, it was quiet when you woke up. Rather it was too quiet with nothing but the sound of birds chirping. Approaching your window, you were soon greeted to the horrors of what had occurred. The town had a rain of radiant-like spears that pierce everything and everyone, as if Heaven had rained upon them to ‘purify’ their sins. The scenes were like the words the priest had spoken before, where it punished those who are wicked. An ironic twist to see.

The sound of fluttering wings rang your ear as you looked up to see none other than Erwyn. His pale blue eyes stare down at you blankly, a ring of light hovering upon his head like a crown as wings hold him in the air. The image that made it click was that the one you were caring for was an angel. He had been buying time for the recovery of his wings and to punish all of you. Your fate had been sealed since the beginning.

“Do not be afraid.” Erwyn then says. “The town has been cleansed of its sins. There is no more pain, no more suffering.”

His hand extends to your frightened form, this land still needs time to heal. It would be unfit to just leave you here, the lost lamb.

“Come, I shall save you from this defiled sanctuary.”
