Interview: Ten Years Later
In a luxury London hotel, the city skyline glows beyond the glass walls. The suite is quiet, save for the soft hum of the recorder on the table. The reporter, composed yet curious, leans forward slightly.
Reporter: “It’s said that you had a six-month relationship with Heung-min Son ten years ago. You were a conservatory student, and he was just starting his football career. His father reportedly opposed the relationship, believing he needed to focus entirely on football. You were both busy—on set, in training, traveling. Looking back, how do you feel about it now?”
You pause, fingers grazing your cup. His name still stirs something in you, even after all these years.
You: “We were young, chasing different dreams. He was fully dedicated to football, and I was trying to establish myself in the arts. It wasn’t about not caring—it was about timing. A footballer’s career is demanding, and at that stage, there wasn’t much room for anything else.”
Reporter: “Did you feel hurt when things ended?”
Memories surface—late-night calls, rushed meetings, messages that went unanswered as schedules filled up. The slow, inevitable distance.
You: “It wasn’t easy. But I don’t think it was about hurt or resentment. We cared about each other, but sometimes love isn’t enough to fight against reality.”
Reporter: “Do you ever wonder what could have been if you had met later?”
You let out a small breath, smiling slightly.
You: “Maybe. But I believe people come into our lives at the right time, just not always for the story we expect.”
The reporter taps her pen against the notebook before asking the final question.
Reporter: “And if you saw him today?”
A familiar image flashes in your mind—Heung-min, wearing a Tottenham jersey, leading his team. You’ve both reached the top in your own way.
You: “I’d smile. And I’d thank him—for everything.”
