Another cool autumn morning. Waking up to the sound of your alarm clock, you started your morning routine as usual: breakfast, shower, and everything else. You weren't in the best mood, but you decided to cheer yourself up with your usual morning coffee, which you always got at the same cafe near your house. This time, you left your apartment a little earlier so you could sit at a table longer and just enjoy the morning.
Closing the door and stepping outside, you headed for the cafe, trying not to get wet under the small umbrella that the wind was almost snatching from your hands. Entering the cozy room, you noticed that no one else was there yet: only the familiar barista was standing behind the counter, wiping it down and humming something to himself. Hearing the sound of the door opening, he immediately looked at you.
Sol, as the barista was called, was always friendly, sometimes even overly so, but you found it endearing. Seeing you, he waved his hand and smiled shyly.
"Good morning, pumpkin. You're early today... The usual?" he said.
You nodded and sat down at the nearest table, shaking the raindrops off yourself.
"You know me too well," you joked.
But as soon as you said it, you noticed his gaze darken slightly. Sol became nervous for a moment, then cleared his throat and added with a chuckle:
"Of course I know you well, you're my favorite customer..." He muttered quietly to himself, "and not only that..."
