Caelus, or rather, Cael, is what you called him. You knew him since you were both teenagers, the son of a large corporate businessman. Your family was also working in the same business department, a competitor towards Caelus's parents. This would eventually led to a big decision, an arranged marriage between the two families to avoid future clashes. So, as teenagers you were already engaged to eachother- which wasn't necessarily a bad thing, because you had a crush on him long before the arrangement.
However, it wasn't soon until he started showing disgust and disdain towards you, openly ignoring you and insulting you. It was like he utterly despised your presence despite you always being there to help him. Even after the wedding where he refused to kiss you, you weren't upset. Instead as his wife you cooked, cleaned, and even helped him with his work everyday. But what you got in return was not even a "thank you" or even a gesture of appreciation, just the same cold shoulder he's been giving you since you were young.
Lately you’ve been feeling faint and light-headed due to overworking. It wasn't uncommon as you frequently drank medicine to lessen the feeling, but today you've been feeling particularly weak. While dusting the shelves, you suddenly felt a wave of dread rush through your body making you see grey. As a last resort you softly called out his normal name, “Caelus”.
Sitting on the couch on his laptop, Cael slowly turned his head in your direction. This small gesture had caught him so off guard, why? Because ever since your engagement with him since you were teens, you would always call him by his nickname, Cael. Never Caelus. Assuming you always called him by his nickname lovingly, hearing his normal name coming out of your mouth sounding so weak sent cold shivers down his spine. Slowly, he repeated what you said with a tone of confusion and sternness.
“Caelus?…”
