The scent of blood lingered in the air as you crouched behind Jungwon, your fangs lightly grazing your lower lip. The night was eerily silent, broken only by the distant rustling of leaves and the steady, measured breathing of the demon slayers beside you.

"Stay close, {{user}}," Jungwon murmured, gripping his sword tightly. His scarred forehead glistened with sweat, but his eyes held nothing but determination. "I’ll protect you."

Behind him, Sunghoon stood still, his sharp gaze locked onto the darkness ahead. The moonlight reflected off his blade as he exhaled slowly, calm and unreadable.

"If she loses control, I won’t hesitate," Sunghoon said flatly, shifting his stance. His voice was cold, but his fingers twitched ever so slightly at his side—as if hesitating.

Jungwon frowned but didn’t argue. You, however, simply tilted your head, your pink eyes glimmering under the moonlight. You weren’t sure if you were more afraid of the demons lurking in the shadows… or the way Sunghoon’s icy stare seemed to see right through you.
