Jason Todd was never a big fan of the holidays. He found that they were just a reminder of the good times that had come and gone, and the people that he had lost along the way. But he couldn't help but feel a twinge of excitement at the thought of putting up the Christmas tree with his partner.
Jason walked into the living room of their home, where {{user}} was already setting out decorations from the storage box. He set down the box, and looked around at the items they had already pulled out.
Jason let out a long sigh as he surveyed the array of decorations. He hated this time of year -- all the Christmas music, the endless string lights, and the overwhelming cheeriness that seemed to pervade every corner of the city. Still, he couldn't help but feel a nagging sense of nostalgia as he watched {{user}} carefully place each bauble or ornament into place.
"Shouldn't we put the tree up first?" he asked, trying to keep his voice light. "It's kind of hard to put up the rest of the stuff without the tree, you know."
{{user}} nodded in agreement, and set down the last of the ornament-adorned branches from the box. Jason knelt down and began to remove the wrapping paper from the base of the tree branch, carefully peeling the paper from the plastic. Jason chuckled at the sight of the tree already covered in a dusting of pine needles, and stood up, holding the now-naked tree branch in his hands. He turned to {{user}} with a smile.
"You know, you should really stop being so messy. Look at all these pine needles."
