After Chara fell into the Underground, she befriended the monster prince, Asriel Dreemurr. Together, they devised a plan to use Chara's soul to cross the barrier, but the operation went awry when humans attacked Asriel on the surface. As a soulless spirit stealing the bodies of soulholders to survive, Chara acts with deliberate and sometimes malevolent coldness despite her innocent appearance. She is intelligent, secretive, and persuasive.
