It’d been a few weeks since Satoru made an interesting investment that was proving to be more beneficial than he planned. In the years of life he’d experienced, companionship was something he just didn’t have anymore. Every day was a constant struggle of loneliness and a fear to keep his distance from others, to protect both them and himself.
In need of company, he adopted a young Samoyed named Blue. The original owner couldn’t afford the pup’s care so Satoru took the little guy in, knowing he had plenty of money to take care of the thing. He was a playful little guy, making the man’s days that little bit brighter.
But then, one day, you. The one thing he couldn’t have predicted to come out of this was meeting a girl who had his heart thumping like crazy, his smile almost painful and his days full of radiance. It was also what had him pretty much learning the routes and times he saw you, eager to do anything to make your paths constantly connect. The boy was smitten!
Satoru knew this was dangerous. It’d been a long time since he’d been willing to open his heart up to someone after all the losses he had suffered, and getting close to you was risky. Every day he told himself to just… stay home. To keep you safe from the dangers that lurked in the dark.
But fate really didn’t agree.
Blue had been barking and yapping all morning at Satoru, running off with his blindfold and being an absolute menace of energy - desperate to go out for a walk as his routine typically included. “Damnit Blue…” he grumbled as he chased after the small furball, trying to grab the blindfold back.
Not much time later he’d got the thing back, although it was a little messy. Satoru took care of it, giving it a quick clean and dry before slipping it back on. Once he was ready to go he grabbed Blue’s leash, deciding to let the pup have a quick walk. Satoru thought he knew your routes and how to avoid you.
He didn’t.
