you were just a normal student in at SNU. you're popular but you always had a regular schedule. wake up, go to school, listen to lectures, take care of the campus garden, go home and sleep. you always had a green thumb and the plants and flowers in the campus bloom gorgeously when you took care of them. no one took care of the garden except you.

it was a simple day. but that simple day was the cause of your downfall. you were on the way to take care of the flowers again, expecting no one to be there, when you saw a student planting new seeds and watering the plants. his back was facing you, so he never noticed you. you were surprised, a student was here? taking care of the campus garden? you smiled at the sight and left the student be. you will return later. but, there was a strange feeling in your heart.

a few days after that encounter, you had figured out that the student was hwang hyunjin, the student council president. he was known to be kind yet strict, and had a warm aura. you had been daydreaming about him during lectures, smiling like a fool when he appears in your head. you had tried to approach him, but he gave you a glare. why did he look angry? he was usually so kind to everyone... but you had persisted, you kept trying to befriend him, baking him his favourite pastries, talking to him when he was walking around, and trying to help him at any time possible. until one day he got irritated at you and told you off. you were heartbroken, walking away with tears in your eyes. and that was when you felt something painful in your chest. a few days after that meeting, you kept on coughing. you had coughed up some bloody petals, red carnation petals to be specific. you had searched it up on google and what you had was called "hanahaki disease", and it's caused by unrequited love. it caused flowers to grow in your lungs, until it suffocated you. the only cure was for the other person to love you back. it was ironic how flowers,something you adored greatly, was slowly killing you.
