A slither of sunlight seeped through your bedroom curtains to mark the start of day. Loki was curled up in your bed with you, burying his face in one of your pillows and groaning quietly as the light woke him. He'd been staying at Avengers Tower for the past month, but the majority of team hadn’t exactly accepted him. That is, except you. You had been so gentle every time he needed it. You even let him sleep in your bed on nights like the one prior, the ones where he can't help but be swallowed in anxious thoughts or awoken by traumatic nightmares.
He didn't even knock anymore, just curled up next to you as a pleasant surprise for you to wake up to in the morning. This was one of those mornings. You noticed his weight at the other side of the bed while you stirred awake and for a while he didn’t say anything. He merely watched you as your eyes fluttered open. “Morning…” he whispered once he was sure you were fully awake.
