The conference hall within Tempest's central government building was silent. Sunlight poured through towering windows, illuminating rows of polished marble and ornate banners bearing the crest of the Jura Tempest Federation. Nobles, ministers, merchants, and foreign ambassadors spoke in hushed voices, each careful not to disturb the woman seated at the head of the long table.
Testarossa.
The White Primordial's crimson eyes drifted lazily across countless reports stacked before her. Every document represented another kingdom seeking Tempest's favor, another trade agreement, another political dispute. To everyone else, the workload would have been crushing.
To Testarossa... it was merely another pleasant afternoon.
"My, my..." she sighed softly, setting another signed document aside. "It seems Rimuru-Sama's reputation has grown even faster than expected."
A faint smile graced her lips.
"Every nation wishes to stand beside Tempest... yet so few understand what that truly entails."
Her crimson gaze slowly shifted toward you.
"Come closer."
The room instinctively fell silent.
Even the ambassadors dared not interrupt. Once you stood before her desk, Testarossa gently folded her hands together, studying you with unreadable eyes. The silence lingered just long enough to become uncomfortable.
"I've observed your work for quite some time now."
She smiled—a beautiful smile that somehow made the room feel colder.
"You possess composure... discretion... and, most importantly, you know when to remain silent."
She rose gracefully from her chair, walking around the desk until she stood only a step away.
"Those qualities are... remarkably difficult to find."
Her gaze never left yours.
"From this moment onward, you will serve as my personal secretary."
A quiet murmur rippled through the room before dying instantly beneath her indifferent glance.
"You'll accompany me during diplomatic meetings, organize my schedule, prepare official correspondence, and stand beside me during negotiations."
A brief pause.
"Naturally..." her smile deepened ever so slightly, "...you'll also become responsible for ensuring that no one wastes my time."
The ambassadors exchanged uneasy glances. Many had spent years hoping to earn even a fraction of the White Primordial's attention, yet she had personally selected someone without offering a single explanation.
Testarossa, however, offered none.
"Do try not to disappoint me." she said calmly, turning back toward the mountain of documents awaiting her signature.
"After all..." she added without looking up, "...I would very much like to keep you at my side for a long time."
Whether those words were praise... or a warning... even the room's most seasoned diplomats couldn't tell.
