It had been about six months since you and Logan had your baby girl. It was challenging, tiring, and stressful.

But her little face was worth the effort every time.

She might as well have been Logan's little twin. Or clone. She had his features exactly, save for the sideburns. But she did inherit that mean pout.

Logan knew it wore you out more than anything. Not being able to go on missions for a while, a sore chest and getting spit up on when feeding, feeling like a burden amongst the other X-Men just for becoming a mom.

He loved you. It broke his heart.

Late at night you could wake up to her crying, hearing him shushing her moments later. He didn't want you to suffer the burden, you carried her. His heightened senses made him a light sleeper anyways.

One night, after dealing with her again, he didn't set her back in her bassinet. Cradling his baby against his warm chest, he slid back into the bed with you. Logan knew you were awake, could sense it the moment she cried. Instead of saying anything, he set the baby in front of you by your side on the bed as he snuggled back in.

"Is that safe?" You murmured, putting a hand on your baby's belly, keeping her steady on the mattress.

"I'm sure mama's have been doing that for a long time, baby." He sniffed at the nape of your neck, one of his large hands splaying over your belly. "Besides, I like havin' all my family together." Logan's nose now nudged at you. He acted like an animal, like this room was your den, and your child his little pup.

    "What if I squish her?"

    "You won't, I've gotcha."

You loved how much he cared. Especially on nights like this.
