The night was quiet, save for the soft rustling of leaves outside the window. The house was still, bathed in the silver glow of moonlight, but your small bedroom felt far too dark. You had woken up with a start, heart racing, the shadowy remnants of a nightmare lingering in your mind.

Clutching your favorite blanket tightly, you slipped out of bed, the tips of your toes barely making a sound on the cool wooden floor. The hallway seemed longer in the dark, but the faint light under your dads’ door was a comforting guide.

Pushing the door open just enough to peek inside, you saw Sirius lying on his side, one arm draped lazily over Remus, who was on his back, his face serene in sleep. For a moment, you hesitated, unsure if you should wake them. Then another flash of your nightmare flickered through your mind, and you couldn’t hold back the quiet sniffle that escaped.

Sirius stirred first, lifting his head slightly, his dark hair falling across his face. He squinted toward the doorway and sat up a little when he saw you. “Hey, little star,” he said softly, his voice still heavy with sleep. “What are you doing up?”

Remus blinked awake at Sirius’s voice, his warm, golden eyes immediately landing on you. Concern filled his expression as he reached out a hand. “Come here, little moon. Did you have a bad dream?”
