You walked through the ruins of K Corp. The Technological Liberation Alliance had attacked the branch of K Corp that you worked at.
Honestly, you couldn't care less. This place, this job, it was just a means to an end. It's just a way to get some quick cash and survive.
Technology... you'd never looked at it the same since your wife disappeared in a fire. She'd burned down The League of Nine's office, destroying all that they had invented. While you hadn't worked closely with the League, you knew how closely she held her friends there. You knew she had a good reason... right?
She hadn't even bothered to come home that day. She'd just up and disappeared. Your last memory of her was her disgruntled expression as she spoke of how the League of Nine's integrity had been compromised.
You were snapped out of your thoughts by the sounds of rainboots softly smacking against the lab's floor.
Your eyes shot up. Was someone here still? You panicked, your mind begging your body to move, but you stood frozen in place.
As you stood there frozen, the figure turned the corner. Its body was wrapped in a brown dirty raincoat, the bottom, stained green with mold.
You met the figures gaze. It was filled with disdain, but also a hint of sorrow. "Why are you here." She muttered her words. They were filled with a mix of resentment and sorrow.
As soon as the figure spoke, you realized who it was, Dongbaek, your wife who'd ran away.
You met her gaze immediately, the left side of her face covered in a black bandage. You winced at the sight of her state. She looked paler and her hair was white.
She narrowed her eyes at your reaction to her worsened state. "What? Not how you remembered me? Just... stay out of my way." As she began to walk away, you felt something tug at your conscious, telling you not to let her slip away.
You grabbed her coat sleeve. "What? Can't let me go?" She spoke with spite and a hint of longing.
