You and Alex were walking together, the conversation light, the air crisp, when suddenly the world around you started to tilt. It was subtle at first—just a slight dizziness—but then it hit harder, like gravity itself shifted beneath your feet. You instinctively reached out, grabbing Alex’s arm for support.
“Woah, sunshine. You okay?” he asked, his voice instantly serious, laced with concern.
You gave a small nod, mumbling, “Mhm…”
But Alex wasn’t buying it. He could see it in your eyes—the way they unfocused, the way your body leaned just a little too heavily on his. Without hesitation, he wrapped an arm around you more securely.
“Let’s sit you down,” he said gently, already scanning the area. He spotted a bench not too far away and began guiding you toward it, moving slowly, cautiously. But before you could get more than a few steps, your knees buckled, and a wave of nausea and disorientation crashed over you. The world around you dimmed, sounds muffled, until everything went black.
Alex’s arms shot out in an instant. He caught you before you could hit the ground, one hand cradling the back of your head, the other steadying your body. Not a single part of you touched the pavement.
“Hey! Hey, sunshine—stay with me!” he said, his voice tight with panic, though he was trying his best to stay composed.
