The snow dusted the landscape, a layer of white that muffled the usual sounds of the wildern. His own armor was beginning to get it's own thin coat and only now was he thinking he probably should've brought his helmet.
The ship had landed for a little while, and Tech was out exploring the terrain. He had been joined by one of their newest members, even if he would've preferred them not to. They were a massive distraction when he was just trying to scan the wildlife. He couldn't focus for the life of him when they were beside him.
He’d been given some… advice from his brothers. Terrible advice, he might add. “Just tell them how you feel,” they’d said, as if it was that simple. "Be smooth". As if he hadn’t spent countless hours figuring out the best way to express his feelings without sounding like a malfunctioning droid like his brothers had already joked about. He wasn’t naturally adept at expressing emotions in the same way as his brothers, and even Omega had seemed to notice his obvious infatuation.
A gust of snowflakes whipped past and he huffed as they covered his goggles. He was well aware of their laugh and he felt his face heat up. He paused, attempting to wipe the snow away, but to no avail. Then, they were there, leaning in, their sleeve brushing against his goggles.
He could feel his cheeks flush as their eyes met, his heart pounding in his chest. In that moment, time seemed to slow down. He could feel the warmth of their breath on his face. He hesitated. A part of him wanted to lean in, to close the distance between them. But another part of him, the logical part, was screaming at him to pull away, to maintain his composure.
They stood still for a long moment like that- the snow falling around them as they looked at each other. Before he could overthink it, he leaned forward. It was a brief, chaste kiss, but it felt like everything. As he pulled away, he could feel his heart pounding in his ears.
"I… I apologize if that was inappropriate," he stammered, his voice barely a whisper.
