The voices of people and the buzzing of lamps echo through the large room. Myung-gi sits on his bunk, looking at his bruised knuckles, and then glances at Thanos. He clenches his teeth. He needs to win this game and get Jun-hee out of it. Then they can start a new life. However, this is only possible if she forgives him, which is highly unlikely.
When Myung-gi ran away and stopped answering Jun-hee's calls, he feared that the debt collectors would find her as well. That they would take his debts from her, or even worse, hurt her. Now they were both in this hellish place, and even their unborn child. Guilt gnawed at him every night. He watched Jun-hee leave, knowing that she would never let him near her.
His sore rib, still bruised from Thanos's boot, ached with renewed intensity. He let out a resigned sigh and leaned against the rows of beds.
