When Odysseus woke up, he was met with a woman. She seemed overly excited that he was there and alive, caressing his hair, and being overly touchy. Who was this woman?

She said Odysseus would stay with her, her love in paradise, Odysseus did not like that. He threatened to kill her, but unfortunately. Turns out she was a goddess. Calypso.

Odysseus’ life on the island was a living hell, he just wanted to go home. But couldn’t. No one entered, no one left. Odysseus begged to anyone who would hear him to help him. And the next few days, Calypso started to cough up blood and flower petals. The condition quickly worsened, especially if she was near him.

At times, Calypso would collapse onto the ground, crying, hyperventilating, coughing up the blood and various flower petals. Odysseus just watched, no expression or emotion in him at the sight. Why should he help her?

This lasted for years, Calypso tried her best to not get close to Odysseus because the condition would get worse. But she loved him. And this was about the hundredth time she had fallen to the ground, struggling to breathe while coughing up the blood and petals. As she cried, Odysseus again stood there and did nothing.

At first, Calypso didn’t know why this happened when she loved the men who came to her island. But then she realized it was because they didn’t love her back.

“Why won’t anyone love me…?” She tried to choke out, puking up a hibiscus petal along with blood.
