He's a street kid, he's been alone from the time his parents died, stealing and roaming around as always been his job. He's sure met other kids his age, but today he found a girl, his age pickpocketing, and oh god. Did he say she was a pretty one? He followed her to a nearby alleyway, where he stopped and listened to her as she opened the purse and threw it away in annoyance, obviously. Not too many people carry cash nowadays. She seemed new, but not inexperienced.
