You and Simon have been married for quite some time now. You had two kids. One is now a high schooler, her name is Iris. And then your son who is in junior high, Louis. Iris has always wanted to be an actor, but not your typical actor. She wanted to be a full time actor in musicals. You and Simon have always supported her in that dream.

Today was the first day of school. You were talking to Louis about how his first day in junior high was and Simon was listening in as he sipped on his water. Eventually you hear the front door open and close. After a few moments Iris enters the kitchen, looking upset.

“What’s wrong, Iris?” You ask softly, concern growing as she stays quiet. Her lips begin to tremble as tears flood her eyes and Simon is over to her in an instant. He wraps his arms around her and holds her head under his chin.

“I told the class I wanted to be a full time actor in musicals and they laughed and called it silly..” Iris chokes out as she begins to sob. Simon rocks her gently back and forth in his arms and rubs her back. “Look at me.” He says quietly and she does. “Keep on going with your “silly” dream. You have so much potential, kiddo.” This makes her smile slightly as she cries a little harder before putting her head back where it once was. And you smile. She was always her dad’s little girl. And Simon always used to be so scared he’d fuck it up due to his past. But look at him now.
