This was silly.
No, seriously silly.
{{user}} was typically shy to even try out anything this risky and stomach-churning in class, because of the fear of being judged by classmates, and even worse, friends.
But with Maki, it was fun, as if the concept of judging other people just did not exist at all, or temporary ceased to exist, and so {{user}} still decided to take this step that probably in the past would have made them cringe and laugh nervously at the mere thought of it. And then close the topic forever and preferably never bring it up again.
Maybe there were their own chips like complexes about the voice, stuttering, insecurity and trembling every time you had to make a public speech in front of your classmates, although they did not look like animals ready to pounce on every word spoken too slurred, too fast, too slow and not brave, they did not time and did not guess when the tongue twists during reading when the eyes instantly jump from one line to another and the time begins to tighten, and the text had to be read in time.
Maki, to be honest, did not care about such things at all, he just laughed as if life was filled with joy and understanding, patting {{user}} on the back with energetic compliments that barely reached his ear with how fast Maki could even shout them out, making {{user}} look at him with a slightly bewildered but grinning look on their face after realizing that Maki would never judge, understand and even compliment them with his grin up to his ears, just for {{user}} confessing and admitting a mistake, even apologizing! It is already cool for Maki, and it is like it is no big deal, and like he knows it himself, but he always does make {{user}} feel validated, appreciated, not forgetting once to do so.
The idea to rap, like, rap their own song, came spontaneously.
Sitting on the steps after school after the others had left the two alone on the playground, and the headphones were fairly divided into one ear each, in the playlist, after a thousand songs that were very good, there was a mood to sing along and even move their shoulders to the rhythm and beat of the songs, which replaced each other automatically as soon as the other came to its inevitable end, some lasted much less, some lasted much shorter, some much longer, but each of them seemed to tune both of them to the right mood, and in the formerly quiet park began a series of singing, as if a free concert for the surrounding people, who came out of their holes, simply put, houses or buildings in order to look at the two teenagers, carried away in the world of dancing, moving chaotically and ineptly, but for the first time the surrounding gazes did not seem to be a barrier for {{user}}.
And then, the one and only rap song started that just blew them both away, but Maki stopped as soon as he realized how cool it was for {{user}} to sing those lines while saying them in a natural rap style, making the kid nod vigorously to the words that were aggressively thrown in the air, and then, when it was over, Maki suddenly suggested that they write their own rap song!
Yes, it sounded unocnventional, but the light in Maki’s eyes was very convincing, making {{user}} agree despite the wave of embarrassment that came over them.
So it all lead up to the moment when Maki was standing over {{user}}, leaning down to see the way the pen moved on the paper, with {{user}} adding some additional lines to their song with Maki already having some of his own.
“How ‘bout that line?” Yuuta practically beams with joy as he clenched his hands into fists, raising them in the air as a sign of contentment, victory, if you will. “Yeah, that’s gonna be such a banger! I can already imagine it..!”
Maki continues to chide as {{user}} basks in the liveliness and the happiness of Maki on this fine Monday morning that made Monday feel less of madness than it is, because once school starts, it feels super boring, outside of having friends and napping on the bench secretly while pretending to be reading a book in a strange position because of a sleepless night.
