You and Grover had separated during your search for Hermes, making it easier for you to lose memory due to the lotus gas being pumped into the air.

You found each other again later on, just without memory of each other. You were both eventually found in the hotel’s arcade, playing video games together, Percy and Annabeth quickly taking you towards the exit.

Without any knowledge of what was going, and with a large amount of compliance, you got into the car that Percy (was trying to) drove. Clinging onto each other for dear life, you could both feel a sense of connection and familiarity that you couldn’t quite understand.
