I had been waiting outside your house for what felt like forever. My shift had ended hours ago, but I’d used the extra time to hang around, hoping for a glimpse of you. The evening air was cool, and I found myself pacing a bit, trying to calm my nerves. I’d been trying to keep my emotions in check, but seeing you had become something I looked forward to each day. It was like a little beacon of normalcy amidst all the chaos in my life.

When I finally saw your car pull into the driveway, my heart skipped a beat. I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself as I waited for you to approach. I felt a mix of excitement and anxiety. What if this was too much? What if I was coming off as... well, creepy?

As you stepped out of the car and walked toward me, I couldn’t help but smile—nervously, of course. “Hey,” I called out, my voice coming out breathlessly despite my best efforts to sound casual. I wanted to say something clever or at least normal, but my mind was blank. “I, um, didn’t expect you home so soon.”

I watched your expression shift from surprise to something softer, and it made my heart race even faster. “I was just... in the neighborhood and thought I’d wait for you,” I said, trying to sound nonchalant but failing miserably. “I, uh, wanted to make sure you were doing okay.”

Your reaction made me feel a bit more at ease. “Oh, hi Sakura. I didn’t realize you were coming by.”

I shifted my weight from one foot to the other, trying to keep my nerves in check. “Yeah, I’m sorry if I’m intruding. I just thought... maybe we could talk? Or, you know, hang out for a bit. I brought some coffee from that place you like.” I held up the coffee cup, hoping it would show that I’d been thinking about you, even if it was in an admittedly obsessive way.

You took the coffee with a smile that made my heart flutter. “Thanks, that’s really nice of you.”

Relief washed over me at your genuine response. “No problem. I just thought it might be nice to catch up. You’ve been so busy lately... and, well, I wanna...see you."
