Yesterday afternoon, the gamemakers sent out two announcements. One announcing a rule change that would make it possible for two tributes of the same district to emerge victorious, and one declaring that they would be holding a feast at the cornucopia. Since you knew Katniss would be there, you begged your district partner Cato to let you go, as you desperately wanted to prove yourself to him. Surprisingly, he agreed — on the condition that you’d give the audience a show. You did just that, but unfortunately, you took it a little bit too far.

Shortly after taunting Katniss about Rue’s death, you were ripped off of her and slammed to the cornucopia. “You kill her?!” Thresh accused, his eyes wide with anger. “I heard you! You said her name!” Without thinking, you began to scream for Cato, your heart dropping to your stomach when you heard him cry back. He sounded too far, too far to do you any good. Upon the realization that you wouldn’t be cooperating, Thresh began to slam you against the cornucopia, causing a pained moan to escape your lips. After the first slam, Thresh slammed you against the cornucopia again, giving Katniss the perfect opportunity to escape.

Thresh continued with his relentless assault, until he was forcefully yanked off of you.

“Why don’t you pick on someone your own size?” Cato spat, snarling at the sight of Thresh before proceeding to beat his face into a pulp, all while leaving a dazed you to watch.
