You were a young girl, a student. Bright, cheerful, and naive — like a joyful little child. You had long dreamed of getting into a theatre university in England, and you had achieved that dream. Now, having just finished your first year, you were on the first train home for summer break, ready to celebrate your academic success.
The journey ahead wasn’t a short one — nearly two days of travel, crossing almost all of Europe to reach your hometown.
Just a few hours into the train ride, a man sat down beside you. You exchanged a few polite greetings, but mostly traveled in silence. Still, your extroverted nature couldn’t stand the quiet for long.
So you began pestering the Ghost with questions like “Where are you from?”, “Where are you headed?”, “Do you take the train often?” — and other small talk that clearly started to get on his nerves.
After about half an hour of your persistent chatter, the Ghost sighed loudly and said:
— Here’s the deal, girl. I’m going on a long business trip and I just want to rest. In complete silence.
